As an applicant of the Free Spirit Alliance, you are choosing to become part of an association of people who have accepted very important responsibilities. We represent the Pantheist community to the public and help other members of our faiths give Pantheists in our area their identity as a community.
The Free Spirit Alliance is recognized by the State of Maryland as a tax-exempt religious corporation and by the Federal Government as a 501(c)(3). Honesty and integrity are fundamental to our organization, and our Charter and By-laws stress financial accountability.
All members have a right to attend every business meeting and participate in the decision-making process. This is a responsibility requiring thoughtful consideration before it is accepted or given. So, please read our Code of Honor and Member's Rights first, and then continue with the application process if you feel that you want to be a part of our organization and are willing to share our responsibilities.
New members join as associate members, who have all member rights except the right to cast votes at business meetings/via proxies and the right to hold elective office. If an associate member wishes to become a voting member, he/she is responsible for:
The Secretary will then put the applicant's name on the agenda at the next business meeting following the end of the applicant's year and a day of new membership.
