The Elementals of Air define and maintain the Boundary of the Temple, and we assist the members of our village who come to the Temple with their preparations to enter.
Our tools are the sage bundle, the fan, and the blade. We are the cool breeze; we are the cleansing smoke; we are the kind—or challenging—word.
Do you resonate with ideas like clarify, define, and communicate? Can you not get enough of the smell of sage? Join us in the Temple of Air, and you will tend the gate, smudge people in, challenge them, remind them to think, and remind them to be aware of themselves. Our service to the other Keepers might include carrying a message, giving a hug, or bringing more sage. We’ll also be brainstorming Air’s offering for Saturday evening’s Puja.
How does this serve Venus? Clear perception and clear communication are fundamental requirements for openness, for intimacy, for the sustaiment of connection.
Keepers of Air
Eve is a poly kinky geek chick, a Witch, one of FSA’s and THE’s Usual Suspects, a damn good cook, and lead percussionist emerita of KIVA. She has twenty-plus years of study and practice in ritual design, music, dance, theater, and almost that much in teaching at and running festivals. Being soft-spoken, she has often designed ritual riffs using dance, movement, and gesture in lieu of words. She has spent considerable time in the watchtower of the Air since she got over being a cranky agnostic and discovered—or rather, came home to—Wiccan practice.
The Pink Sphinx has been kicking around THE and FSA events for a couple of years now. At FSG she has provided the “Clear Space,” run in tandem with a few Voudou fetes and several Universal Temple of Spirits trance possession rituals. During the past two Beltanes and at FOV 2009, she has been pleased to serve the sacred sex community under the auspices of Babylon’s Temple.
At this year’s Fires of Venus, The Pink Sphinx looks forward to contributing to the Fires with both heart and hands.
