FSG XXVI Rituals

Opening Meeting/Ritual (Wednesday 8:15p, Dance Pavilion)
Tim, our intrepid Coordinator will introduce staff and make the usual opening announcements. Thista Minai will then cast the Circle and lead us in setting the space for the Gathering. Opening ritual will conclude with a procession to the Fire Circle (by the lake) for the Firelighting and Blessing, facilitated by Cheryl, Kitty, and Morganna of Mosaic Mariposa.

Main Ritual: Philokhoria - Thista Minai (Saturday 6:15p—before dinner, MRF)
Celebrate the summer solstice classical-Greek style! Join us for a ritual drama that celebrates music, dancing, and sunshine. Own your own sacred by taking part in the drama—anyone and everyone who wants to participate will have the opportunity to do so (although spectators are welcome too!). The procession will start at 6:00p at Cabins S&T.

At the end of the ritual, we’ll sit down to dinner on the lawn, and enjoy music from Izolda's “Sacred Voice” students and Raquy and the Cavemen.

Closing Ritual (Sunday 11:30a, Dance Pavilion)

Our ritual team leader, Θιστα Μιναι (Thista Minai), is a priestess of Artemis and an unashamed geek for all things Greek. She is the author of Dancing in Moonlight: Understanding Artemis Through Celebration and editor of Unbound: A Devotional Anthology for Artemis. She is currently working on a third book: Alone in the Forest: Celebrating Artemis in Solitude.

Cheryl, Kitty, and Morganna of Mosaic Mariposa offer the Firelighting and Blessing ritual to the FSG community.
