Adaptations: the Extraordinary Energetic Properties of Ordinary Things - Tannin Schwartzstein
When we think of the “shamans and healers of old,” the Pagans of today tend to romanticize and envy their intimate relationship with their environment and the materials we imagine were at hand. The 21st century magickal practitioners, like their predecessors need to learn to make good use of the resources their surroundings offer, regardless of whether they are among trees and mountains or asphalt and skyscrapers. Crystals and feathers are often hailed for their “magickal properties”; yet the energetic traits of glass and plastic may be equally or more useful for the task at hand! In this workshop, author and artist Tannin Schwartzstein will talk about working with the energies of natural and artificial materials for healing, spirit work, and other shamanic and magickal purposes.
ADF Druid Ritual - Patty
Come join ADF Druids in celebrating the Summer Solstice (we don't draw circles). This ritual is open to all pagans/pagan-friendly folk. There will be a pre-ritual briefing for those who have never been to an ADF ritual. We do not operate on Pagan Standard Time, so don't be late! (YA-appropriate)
Alchemical Fire Ritual - Alchemical Fire Ritual Team
Experience a one-night sampling of Fire Alchemy. Co-create Intentional Space, collaborate in Sacred Art, dance, chant, drum, connect, and engage with Spirit, self, and each other. Take part as much or as little as you like when you like. You are welcome to set up a “nest” outside the circle to take needed rest or breaks from ritual. Kids and Families are very welcome. We plan (with parents’ participation) to provide a kids tent for little ones who need to sleep or be out of ritual space.
To help us all work this magick together, there are some agreements we ask everyone to honor while in this Ritual Space:
We invite you, we welcome you, we would love for you to shine with us. Come and share your light by the Fire Light. Together our magick will carry us to the dawn! (YA-appropriate; Kid-appropriate)
The Anatomy of Connection - Christine and O (Sacred Sex)
Ascended Master Decree Circle - AV
In this ritual, we will use the power of the spoken word through decrees to raise energy for the Ascended Masters, the nation, the world, and of course for our own Ascension into the Light. We will call upon the silver violet flame of transmutation to purify our energetic fields as individuals and as a group. Next, I'll lead the group through a Unified Chakra visualization and meditation in order to bring each individual's highest spiritual self to the forefront. As we continue through the ritual, everyone will have an opportunity to select a decree that resonates with them and the entire group will make the decree together. Once everyone has had an opportunity to decree with the group, each person will be guided into meditation to meet an Ascended Master.
It is strongly recommended that you attend Intro to the Ascended Masters if you're planning on participating in this ritual. (YA-appropriate; Max class size: 15 (Sign up); Materials fee: $5.00)

Pick a dream, a cherished wish, an attainable possibility, and bring your dream and your drum to be among the first people to experience this powerful 2 hour workshop and awaken your Dream with Tigre and Ariana. You don't have to be someone who has ever played a drum to do this workshop; we are simply using the drum as a way to focus or manifest intention. (YA-appropriate)

(YA-appropriate; Max class size: 20)
Beginning Shamanic Healing: Extraction - Caroline Kenner
Shamanic extraction is a common shamanic healing protocol found globally in diverse cultures. Extraction is the removal of spiritual parasites, which range widely in size and complexity. At the lower levels of the continuum, the parasites are non-sentient and are merely looking for a warm, wet place to dwell. It is these intrusions you will learn to remove in this workshop. Join us for a series of shamanic journeys to find our extraction allies, followed by a series of partner exercises designed to teach you beginning extraction. You will be introduced to a number of intrusion detection and removal techniques, and also learn ways of managing the intrusions after removal. We magical people are especially apt to walk around with a few travelers on us if we don't clean each other occasionally. If you are able to journey shamanically and already have established relationships with spirit allies, learning extraction can be very useful. This workshop will teach you how to clean up your coven mates and magical family members using extraction. (18+)
Birth as a Rite of Passage - Diana McCleery
The act of carrying a child and giving birth has itself profound potential for spiritual changes, and sets the stage for new parenthood. The first part of class will be spent defining the characteristics of a rite of passage, and some suggestions will be given for how these might apply to birth. From that point, the discussion will be group-driven. We can talk about how care of pregnant women can support or derail that natural passage, how men's and women's mysteries intersect birth, wherever interest lies. I have had this discussion with non-Pagans, and am very excited to hear your thoughts. Anyone interested in pregnancy and birth is welcome, expecting or not. (YA-appropriate)

Building a New Myth of the Masculine - Tom Swiss
Over the past 50 years, women have been able to build a new myth of the feminine and find their power and pride; yet the “men's movement” was mostly turned into a joke. A re-assessment of our idea of masculinity is desperately needed, and not just for abstract philosophical reasons—traditionally “male” industries are in decline, hit hard by the Great Recession, and women now earn the majority of college and graduate degrees. We invite all men and women to come discuss alternatives to the buffoons and bullies put forth as male role models by popular culture, and how together we can build a new myth for the mature masculine. (YA-appropriate)

Cardboard backing, glue, paintbrushes, magazines, found objects, and some cutting materials will be provided. If you have a cutting mat and/or tools, please bring them. (YA-appropriate; Max class size: 10 (Sign up); Materials fee: $5.00)
Communicating With Deity I: Do You Hear What I Hear? - Hillary J Gross
What do people mean when they say they've talked to or seen a deity? How do you reconcile your grounding in western science with the (sometimes ungrounding) spirituality you're exploring now? Why do you perceive nothing when others swear they've heard/felt/seen a spirit or god? Shifting your mindset to include not just believing in, but also communicating with, deity and other spirits is a huge challenge for those of us raised in the western world. This workshop will propose a general cosmological framework for how the gods and other spirits operate, as well as exploring ways to perceive them. (YA-appropriate)

Creating Meaningful End-of-Life Rituals I - Michael
Intended to help individuals understand those rituals both before and after death that help lead to healthy grieving and a sense of closure. If someone you care about has died, is dying, or may die at some point in the future, you need to know what you can do to create closure for both them and yourself. This workshop will go over blessings for the dying, the basic elements of funeral rites, and how the process of saying farewell can be ritualized for both small and large groups.
Creating Meaningful End-of-Life Rituals II - Michael
This will be an actual memorial ritual in practice. This is a ritual we will create together using the tools we discussed in part one, as well as drawing on personal experience. In this ritual, we will creature an opportunity for attendees to remember and say farewell to a person or people who have died. While part one of this workshop is not a requirement, it is highly recommended for those who desire to experience the most profound part of this experience, the personal involvement of creating the ritual itself.

Dancing with Deity: Rumba and Cha-Cha - Lord Fairy Bottom
Dancing is the vertical expression of a horizontal wish. These two Latin dances give meaning to the word romance. Rumba is a slow dance that allows two people to join with a certain symbiosis. Each partner accents the other as they move in harmony with each other. Cha-Cha is a quicker dance, but still with a specific rhythm of motion. The partnership of two people glides across the floor in a unison pattern. We'll spend an hour on each dance style. There are no prerequisites for these dance classes. We will compare how our physical bodies join together in harmony that parallels how Deity moves in mystery.
Dancing with Deity: Swing and Hustle - Lord Fairy Bottom
Swing began as a lively dance in the 1950s and 60s from the more conservative Fox Trot. As the music progressed with the times, so did the dance. There are several styles of Swing dancing, from triple time, to single time and from Lindy Hop (Charleston-like dance) to a West Coast style. Swing can be danced to practically any type of 50's music to the more modern millennium. We will learn the basics of West Coast as that first hour progresses. In the 1970s, swing evolved into a new style of dance called the Hustle. We'll spend an hour on each dance style. There are no prerequisites for these dance classes. We will compare how our physical bodies join together in harmony that parallels how Deity moves in mystery.

These skills also transfer well into the mundane world, where everyone seems to need grounding these days. No experience is necessary; open to all. Bring a comfy chair and your notebook.

Find Your Sacred Voice I - Izolda
A workshop on discovering the sacred joy of singing. The voice, being our first instrument, has the greatest physical, emotional and spiritual connection to our body. Throughout the ages, people have used song both to express themselves and to connect with the sacred. And yet, usually, we sing without first establishing the crucial connection between breath, body, and voice. Or perhaps we are afraid to sing because we fear that we can not sing. Using stretches, and physical and vocal exercises and techniques, this workshop will focus on the connecting the body to the breath, the breath to the voice, the voice to the song, and the song to the spirit. We will also attempt to increase the comfort level with vocalizing and develop some listening skills to aid in feeling joyful about singing both individually and with others. The participants will also receive a vocal skills practice CD to help them keep the connection with their singing voice long after the workshop is over. In this workshop, learn:
Finally, we'll put techniques into practice by learning and singing a number chants and songs. This workshop is open to anyone. It is also the precursor to the intermediate (II) and advanced (III) Sacred Voice workshops. Participants who complete all 3 will have the option of performing as an opening act for the Saturday performance. (YA-appropriate; Materials fee: $3.00)

Participants will learn additional vocal techniques, including a new breathing technique, tonal quality, timbre, placement of the voice, blend, and harmony. We will further develop confidence and communication through the voice and song by learning and singing more beautiful and challenging songs and rounds from around the world. We will also delve further into the connections between the voice, communication, and yoga. Participants will receive a full syllabus as well as an additional voice practice CD to further develop their singing voices. This workshop is open to any participants who have completed the first workshop, either this year or a previous year. As a special bonus, participants will, if they also complete the advanced class, have the opportunity to highlight what they have learned as an opening act for the Saturday night performance. (YA-appropriate; Materials fee: $3.00)

(YA-appropriate)
Gifts for the Divine: The Art Of Making Offerings - Raven Kaldera
In ancient times, when people wanted something from a deity, they made an offering and asked. Today we are conflicted about whether it's all right to ask for things, and whether we should pay a price for them, and what kind of a price is appropriate. The art of making offerings, however, can be a beautiful way to be in symbiotic relationship with the Gods. In this workshop we'll, discuss the issue of divine propitiation and share ideas for worthy offerings and what to do with them.
Gods and Goddesses of Nubia - Helena Domenic
We often hear of Nubia in discussions of ancient Egypt, but we don't often get to learn about Nubians and their beliefs. Although the Nubians and the Egyptians shared much in common, there are deities that are unique to the Nubian pantheon. In this workshop, we will explore Nubian deities along with Egyptian deities honored by the Nubians and how at least one or two Egyptian deities may have originated in Nubia. (YA-appropriate)
Grounding, Centering, Shielding - Del and Ninja
These are the three basic energetic and magical techniques that just about every pagan needs to know. Whether you perceive energy or not, it can still have profound effects on your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. Our techniques have no theology and no required beliefs other than the idea than energy exists and you can manipulate it even if you can't sense it. You will learn tools that you can incorporate into a regular practice, or only use when you feel like you need to refocus. This class is highly recommended for self-taught pagans, solitary practitioners, and those who are just starting out on their path. Del is a spirit worker and shaman who works with energy on a regular basis; Ninja, a guardian who “talks to the ceiling but hears nothing back” can help those who don't sense energies as readily understand the importance of this practice. (YA-appropriate)

The Heimdall Workshop will follow this Blót; you might want to bring a chair. (YA-appropriate; 21+)
Heimdall: Guardian of the Bifrost Bridge - Eric S
Heimdall, the Shining Æse and carrier of Gjallrhorn, also known as Rig and watchman of the Norse Gods, is less well known than a number of others and much of his lore was lost. Eric will explore what can be found about Heimdall as well as a few things that can be implied and what in the watchman may appeal to parts of us. Come share what can be learned from this most perceptive of gods. (YA-appropriate)
Hermes Council - William
Men and women are different. Though we share a common spiritual ground, there are Women's Mysteries and Men's Mysteries that can be experienced separately. The Hermes Council is a men's-only spiritual group. It complements the shared spirituality of men and women by offering men a separate space to address their spiritual needs. The rituals and practices of the Hermes Council are based on Wiccan and Native American traditions, and will probably be familiar to you. What is unique about us is the degree of honesty and communication that we share in our ritual space.
After a short (10–15 minute) introduction, we will perform a ritual in the Hermes Council tradition. The ritual will include a council, where we'll pass around a talking stick and give every participant a chance to speak. Please feel free to bring drums and other musical instruments, cups for juice or seltzer, and any other ritual equipment with which you are comfortable (e.g., athames). Once we have defined our sacred space and cast our circle, we will be reluctant to allow latecomers to enter. Please be on time. (YA-appropriate)
Home Funerals: How to Legally Care for the Dead at Home without a Funeral Director - Michael
Home funerals, also commonly referred to as home funeral vigils or family directed funerals, are services in which a loved one's body is either kept at home (or returned home) for the period between death and cremation or burial. This option often involves the opportunity for greater personal involvement by the family and close friends in the preparation of the funeral and all of its details. Home funerals present a less expensive and more natural process that forgoes embalming and the extraneous amenities often associated with traditional funerals. This is an educational and hands on workshop where we will learn the laws and procedure surrounding funerals as well as how to handle a human body in the a respectful and natural manner.
Homeschooling Open Discussion - Sarah Avery
Whether you're a curious non-homeschooler with questions or an active longtime homeschooler with stories to share, be welcome at this open discussion. The homeschooling movement is as various, as decentralized, as misunderstood, as controversial, and potentially as wonderful as the Pagan movement is. I'll bring some overview materials to help total newcomers find their bearings, and then let's see where the conversation takes us. (YA-appropriate; Kid-appropriate)

If you don't have your own place, or if you share an apartment, you can still do work to improve the energy of your bedroom. We will also talk about the need to honor the local spirits. Some of the Masters we will touch upon include beloved Saint Germain, beloved Sanat Kumara, beloved El Morya, Archangel Michael, Thor, Buddha, and Jesus the Christ. This class is a prerequisite for the Ascended Master Decree Ritual. (YA-appropriate; Max class size: 10)

Magickal Warriorship - Gwaeron
What does it mean to be a Warrior? How has that evolved over the centuries? What role does Warriorship have for the Magickal Practitioner? What ethical issues arise when the role of Warrior mixes with that of Magickal Practice? In this class, we will explore these questions, seeking to clarify what a Warrior is, and what it is not. What it means to incorporate tenets of Warriorship into the Path of One's Great Work, as well as other considerations for the modern day Pagan. (YA-appropriate)

Morning Blóts - Scott
A blót is a heathen ritual (a sacrifice) that is offered to a northern European god or goddess in celebration of their blessings, and their kinship. Come join us as we offer a horn of mead (or ale, or whatever is appropriate) each morning to celebrate the kinship of the god or goddess of the day. Bring your loudest toasting voice. Folks under 21 may attend, but not imbibe; if you're not imbibing, there are options available, including kissing the horn or libating.
The Blót schedule is: Tuesday: Thor (at the beginning of the Opening Sumbel); Wednesday: Odin; Thursday: Heimdall, led by Eric S; Friday: Freyja; Saturday: Frigga; Sunday: Sunna. (21+)

Nine Sisters: Gods and Goddesses of the Northern Seas - Raven Kaldera
Today the oceans are threatened more than ever before in the history of the Earth. We tend to think that the seas are unimportant to us, but the Gods and Goddesses of the Oceans would disagree. In this workshop, we'll explore the ancient Norse deities of the cold northern seas, especially the Nine Sisters who are the daughters of Ægir and Ran, and who have begun to approach modern Pagans once again. Come and discover their magic, their danger, and their beauty—and learn more about the power of the seas, and how you can help. We'll also have a short ritual to help heal the oceans.
Not Your Parents' Paganism: Forging Your Own Path in a Community Full of 'Em - Arthur Lipp-Bonewits
“Two paths diverged in a wood, so I forged my own between them; and that has made all the difference.” As young adults in the larger Pagan community, we have a multitude of paths to choose from. And yet is it enough? Maybe Wicca or Druidism or Asatru feels right for you, as they do for many. We have options, we have our parents paths' as examples, and we have the community. But what do you believe, and what feels right for you? This will be a discussion among the participants to talk about our beliefs and what rings true for us, spiritually and religiously. Please come prepared to talk and participate. (YA only)
Operative Magick - Ivo Domínguez, Jr
The study of spells and operative magick is often frowned upon as being less important than the high magick of self transformation. It is my belief that a well balanced practitioner is equally versed in low, middle, and high magick. In this class, we will cover the basic structure and foundations of these workings. We will also explore the benefits and the dangers of spells and operative magick. Lastly, we will examine some of the criteria for when and why to use spells and operative magick.
Paganism 101: No One, True Way - Tirani Starpath
Druids. Alchemists. Wiccans. Ordeal Shamans. Priestesses. What the heck is all this stuff? Who do I ask for more info? What's this all mean anyway?
Paganism 101 is a survey class, intended to provide an overview of the many paths and traditions that you will meet and find among the peoples that come together at Free Spirit Gathering. Because this is a survey class, we will not get into great detail about the paths we discuss; rather we will touch on the basic tenants of a variety of traditions and cover the wide ranging, diverse groups you are likely to see over the course of the weekend. This is an introductory class aimed at newcomers and young adults, but old hands who would like a refresher are welcome too! (YA-appropriate)
Paganism 102: Tools of the Trade - Tirani Starpath
Thor's Hammers. Pentacles. Crystal balls. Wands. Guardian's Blade. Candle, book, bell. It's well known in the Pagan traditions that we like our toys. We really like our toys. But what is all this stuff? What's it mean? How do you politely ask if you can look at something more closely? This class will provide examples of ritual and spiritual items commonly used by a wide range of Pagan traditions, and provide some insight on what they mean. The 'rules' for handling such objects will also be discussed, as will ways of handling different situations where you might want to look but don't know how to politely ask. This is a class aimed at newcomers and young adults, but old hands who would like a refresher are welcome too! Paganism 101 is strongly suggested for folks new to Pagan traditions, but not required. (YA-appropriate)

We will use a parachute to creatively expend energy and create a relaxed space. Then we will use guided meditation to clear the mind and awaken the imagination. All ages are welcome; kids 6 and younger need to bring a parent or guardian. Refreshments will be served; please let the presenter know if your child has food allergies. (Kids only)
The Path of Honor: Oaths, One's Word, and Oath Taking - Eric S
Our ancestors did not have written contracts, but held people to oaths and professions given before witnesses. There are many examples and the concepts still exist today, but are often taken quite lightly—and should not be. Come for a review of the nature of oaths, the meaning of one's word and why all oaths need to be taken seriously and with reverence. This class is open to participants from any path or none. The instructor enjoys debate and discussion. (YA-appropriate)
Poi 101: Intro to the Intro to Fire Spinning - Hobbit and Charlie
This class will serve as a base for the rest of the fire spinning classes presented at festival. We will focus on fire safety, fuel choices, spotting practice and technique, construction and care of equipment, as well as some basic spinning technique. If you don't want to spin, but want to learn how to spot for your neighborhood spinners, this is the class to come to. (YA-appropriate)
Poi 102: Intro to Fire Spinning: Fun with Fire - Hobbit and Charlie

Poi 201: Revenge of the Intro to Fire Spinning - Hobbit and Charlie
This is a continuation of the Introduction to Fire Spinning class. The class will build on the foundation laid in the first two classes, introducing more intermediate/advanced moves and concepts. Less time will be spent on the basics of poi, but fire safety will still be a top priority. Working with lit poi is a possibility, but will depend on the class attendance and the comfort level of the instructors. (YA-appropriate)
Poi 301: Son of the Revenge of the Intro to Fire Spinning - Hobbit and Charlie
This is a continuation of the Poi series. Less time will be spent on the basics of poi, with more time for the sharing of more complex techniques. Additional poi style skill toys and other performance equipment will be introduced so that people can get a feel for the range of possibilities, including whips, rope darts, etc. Working with lit poi is possible, but will still depend on the class attendance and comfort level of the instructors. (YA-appropriate)

It's time for kids to take over the pool! Play Marco Polo, use a noodle, splash, and play supervised games. All ages are welcome. The Possession Experience - Kenaz Filan and Kathy Latzoni
A brief look at possession in Vodou, compared and contrasted with possession and similar experiences in other traditions. Possible topics of discussion include the differences and similarities between possession and “aspecting” or “shadowing” and a comparison and contrast between positive possession experiences (possession by a Lwa, Samadhi, etc.) and negative (oppression, “demonic possession,” etc.).
The Power of the Poppy - Kenaz Filan and Kathy Latzoni
Of all the plant allies, few are more powerful—or more controversial—than Papaver somniferum, the Opium Poppy. Kenaz Filan provides a historical and contemporary look at poppies and painkillers, in a journey which stretches from the misty Neolithic past to the present day, from the Confessions of an English Opium-Eater to the War on Drugs, from the poppy goddess of Crete to the heroin lords of the Golden Triangle. (18+)
The Power of Voice - Christine and O
In the beginning was the Logos… the Word. What we say is important, not just because of the words we use, but because of the power behind it when it exits our body. When we speak softly and calmly we are perceived differently than when we speak with a full bodied, louder tone. This class examines the voice as a tool for projection. Asking you to dig deep within your core, we will explore the depth and richness of the sounds you can make. We will vocalize, chant, and make noise in this class. You will leave with the tools to embrace your voice as a projective tool. All are welcome! (YA-appropriate)
Practical Tarot for Beginners (and Everyone Else!) - PathWeaver
Have you always wondered how people make sense of those bizarre-looking cards? Do you have a deck, but have never quite known what to do with it? Or are you an experienced reader looking for practice or interested in how others read? This workshop is for all of you! What I will not do is try to teach you the “right” way to learn and use your cards—because there is no one right way. Instead, I'll tell you a bit about how I do it, offer some suggestions for getting started, and work with you so you can start finding the way that works for you. This will be an unstructured, free-form workshop. I'll come in with a few things to talk about, but I really want to answer your questions and give you time to practice. If you have cards, feel free to bring them. If not, no worries; I'll have some decks to share. (YA-appropriate)
Prophet for Profit - William
You've learned the art of divination, whether it be Tarot, Runes, palm-reading, I Ching, etc. You've decided to start charging for your talents. This workshop will cover the practical aspects of this decision: what you can say; whom you can help; what kind of readings you can do; the limits when you charge for a reading; the compromises you'll have to make. I don't plan to discuss how to read Tarot or the mechanics of any other form of divination. However, no previous divination experience is required. (YA-appropriate)
Rage, Strength, and Spirituality - Eric S
Three Archetypes of Male Submission: the Berserker, the Knight, and the Monk. This is intended to be a detailed discussion of the spiritual archetypes with examples of Male Submission with an emphasis on strength, perseverance, reflection, and codes of behavior. Who should attend: Anyone with an interest in strong male submission, especially in a spiritual and emotional context. (18+)
Raising, Holding, and Shaping Energy - Ivo Domínguez, Jr
This workshop is a balanced mixture of lecture on ethereal anatomy theory and the experience of exercises focused on working with the subtle energies used in magick and energetic healing. We will be exploring a number of ways to raise, hold, and shape energy through direct and indirect methods. The material shared is particularly useful for people that find themselves as the primary focal points in high energy rituals. However, anyone that does magick can benefit from this workshop. The techniques are not tradition-dependent and can be adapted to a wide range of practices. Come prepared to work your minds and your subtle bodies.
Reading Role-play - William
You think you're a good at divination? Are you ready for the realities of reading for strangers? Let's find out! Attendees will be paired off to read for each other. The ones playing the querents will be randomly assigned a quirk, challenge, or issue to role-play for readers to deal with. Bring your divination tools (cards, runes, etc.). Attendance at Prophet for Profit is not required, but strongly advised. (YA-appropriate)

Reiki I Part 1: Introduction - Satayana
Reiki (Ray-Key) is a simple yet powerful Japanese form of energy work that enables anyone to ease stress and pain and promote healing through gentle touch. Reiki enhances well being and awareness physically, emotionally, mentally, intuitively, and spiritually. Unlike other forms of energy work, Reiki is not dependent on skill, intuition, experience, or complex techniques; it can be used fully clothed; it is non-invasive, safe, and simple. Even children can learn and use it. The presenter will discuss her experiences over her 26 years of practice, and will demonstrate Reiki on volunteers. Bring a folding chair or a blanket for the benches. This class lasts 1 hour.
Please note: if you want to be attuned and certified as a Level I practitioner, you must attend all three parts (Intro, Attunement, and the Share) of this class; you'll be able to sign up for Part 2 (Attunement) at the beginning of this class. (YA-appropriate)
Reiki I Part 2: Attunement & Self Reiki - Satayana
Satayana will provide the necessary Reiki attunement and training to practice Reiki on yourself and others. The workshops includes the use of hand positions and how each area of the body that we Reiki corresponds to a specific physical function, emotional, and spiritual aspect. The optional practice/share session will provide further experiential time in giving Reiki to others. Bring a folding chair or a blanket for the benches.
Please note: You must have attended Part 1 to participate, and, if you want to be attuned and certified as a Level I practitioner, you must attend all three parts of this class (Part 3 is the practice/share). Optional: you may also bring one non-Reiki friend in need of healing or pain relief. Bring a folding chair or a blanket for the benches. (YA-appropriate)
Rhythmic Fusion! - Tigre Cruz
In the drum circle world of today, it is very common to see dumbeks playing along with (much larger and more numerous) djembes and ashikos. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a way for the two styles and types of drumming to work together deliberately to make fantastic rhythms together? In this class, we will take rhythm lines from traditional rhythms of both cultures and meld them together into new, fun and cool sounding rhythms that can be played in community drum circles and ceremonies (Intermediate and up). (YA-appropriate)
A Ritual For The Stag God Cernunnos - Assembly Of The Sacred Wheel
The Cernunnos ritual is a deeply moving experience that is one of the most loved of the Assembly's public rituals. The core of the ritual is the divine possession of a priest by the God Cernunnos and the hearing of his words of counsel. You will also be encouraged to connect with your animal nature, your human nature, and your divine spark. Come with an open heart and receive His teachings and blessings.
Sex Magic in the Northern Tradition - Raven Kaldera (Sacred Sex)
Shamanic Healing Ceremony - Caroline Kenner
Shamanic healing has survived every human cultural shift from the Neolithic to the Information Age for one reason: shamanic healing works. The intent of this group working is to perform as much healing as possible for each person in the circle, within the constraints of time and energy. The spirits will choose who receives which aspects of shamanic healing. The three major shamanic healing protocols are extraction, soul retrieval, and power animal retrieval. Other possibilities are the lifting of bad magic and depossession. Each person attending the ceremony will receive healing. If you choose to attend this ceremony, you will find that miracles are a distinct possibility. (YA-appropriate; Max class size: 20 (Sign up); 18+)
Sit & Knit - Kitsa
This is a chance for fiber geeks to get together, discuss what their crafting means to them, and spend some time with the fiber (because it's all about the fiber). Bring a camp chair and a project if you have one with you; we'll have some extra tools, yarn, and patterns for those who don't. If your art or craft involves needle(s) and/or fiber, you're welcome to join us. (YA-appropriate)

We will go over a basic Grounding Technique using different types of Smudge. No experience required; however, this is perhaps not the best class for people with plant allergies and sensitivities. (YA-appropriate)
So, You Want to Produce a Pagan Book - Kenaz, Raven, and Scott
Over the last decade, the book publishing industry, and pagan publishing in particular, has gone through some significant changes. No longer are authors left with the sole choice of going through a major publishing house to get their “books on the shelf” of the local pagan store. Also, ebooks are beginning to have a significant impact on the publishing industry.
Join Kenaz Filan (The Haitian Vodou Handbook et al), Raven Kaldera (MythAstrology et lots of alia), and Scott Mohnkern (Hanging From the Tree: Living with the Runes et al) as they discuss their experiences in the pagan publishing industry from a variety of different perspectives, from dealing with major pagan publishers to self-publishing. They'll talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each, and a variety of approaches to getting your book into the hands of potential readers.
Soul Retrieval for Sexual Abuse Survivors - Caroline Kenner
Thirteen survivors of sexual abuse are invited to attend this healing ceremony. During the ritual, all participants will receive their lost soul essence back, along with any other shamanic empowerments possible. These healings will take a year and a day to manifest fully. Shamanic healing has been nurtured in tribal societies for millennia because it works. Caroline Kenner is a survivor of sexual abuse herself, and it is her own healing through soul retrieval that drew her onto the shamanic path. If you wish to attend this ceremony, please speak to Caroline ahead of time, and sign up at check-in. (Max class size: 13 (Sign up); 18+)

Stáv Staff Training - Miki
All movements in stáv are tied to a concept known as the web. Because a 5+ foot staff will show you more easily where you have left the lines of the web, the staff is the first weapon handed to a stáv student. The exercises taught in this course were developed by Graham Butcher, master of the Butcher line of Stáv and will help a student learn how to see and feel the lines of the web. This course will cover 16 basic exercises, one or more 2 person exercises, and one or more combined movements. (YA-appropriate; Max class size: 10)

Finally, we will talk about resources consumed and giving back to the spirits. (YA-appropriate)

It energizes the body even as it quiets the mind, and it brings body, mind, and spirit together to leave you peaceful, centered, and balanced. This daily morning class will awaken your body, mind, and spirit as you learn how to cultivate and express Chi, or Life Force. Each morning we will introduce concepts of Tai Chi and the flowing postures that express energy. Working with the Life Force in the earth and in ourselves, we will move through the first few flowing postures of Yang style Tai Chi utilizing our own inner awareness of our bodies and our energy. We will learn the appropriate body mechanics and structure to move through the form for optimal health, well-being, and peace. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. You will also receive some supplementary materials that will help you keep practicing Tai Chi and cultivating life force long after the workshop is over. (YA-appropriate)

Please come and share your stories and memories about Isaac, both positive and negative, for potential inclusion in the biography. I will share some stories of my own. I will have a voice recorder at the workshop, but no one will be recorded without their permission. If you can't make the workshop, but you still want to share an Isaac story, please look for me next to the Camp Store on Fri & Sat from 1:00p to 2:00p, or email me at bonewits.research at gmail dot com. The Touchstone: Discerning Magickal Truths - Ivo Domínguez, Jr
Whether you are a new student or an old hand, new studies and continued explorations means that task of separating truth from fiction never ends. A touchstone is used to discern whether something is gold or just fool's gold. While there may not be a touchstone for magickal teachings, visions, or experiences, there are logical techniques for separating out what works and what does not—or has unfortunate consequences. Truth is a slippery thing, but hopefully this class will give you some additional containers for truth.
Trance Possession Rite for the Spirits of Individuality - The Universal Temple of Spirits
In following with the theme of this year's festival, The Universal Temple of Spirits presents a service for the Spirits of Individuality. We will honor our Spirits with drumming, dance, song, and art. The service will begin a half an hour earlier with a sung litany prayer to set the space. All are welcome to join in with this. And then the drums start. The singing and dancing continues throughout, and we call our Spirits into ourselves to share our celebration.
This is an open circle; you may join late or leave early (although you'll probably miss some good stuff if you do). An outside grounding/processing space staffed by skilled possession workers will be available. This is a Pantheistic working, so we will honor Spirits from around the globe and sing in their native languages when possible. Please note that this is not an open drum circle; it is a possession-based working. The more active your participation, the more exciting the service, so, please bring:
You may wish to dress in the colors of the Spirit you'll be honoring. Donations of food and/or drink, or money for supplies are appreciated, but not mandatory.
The Universal Temple of Spirits is a celebratory group practicing in the Global Spirits tradition. The celebrations welcome all Spirits from around the globe in love. Rituals are theme-based, rather than pantheon-based, and incorporate what we have in common as humans: shared food, dance, song, drumming, art, and possession trance. Global Spirits is a harm-none tradition. There will be alcohol present, but no one is required to partake (and, of course, those under 21, while welcome to participate, may not partake). Older teens may attend if accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Transformational Bodypainting: A Panel Discussion of Experience and Techniques - Vann Godfrey
This a roundtable discussion with Vann Godfrey and the artists of the bodypainting studio he has founded. They will share their stories and experiences of what it's like on both sides of the brush and talk about how bodypainting can have a powerful and lasting effect on the psyche of the person who has been adorned. Bodypainting is one of the oldest and most powerful ritualistic art-forms that humankind has ever known. Allow yourself to bring all your questions about methods, materials, and techniques to this in-depth discussion, either as a stand-alone educational experience or as the first step in preparing yourself to participate in the hands-on transformational bodypainting workshop. (18+)
Transformational Bodypainting: Collaborative Bodypainting Workshop - Vann Godfrey
This is the hands-on workshop with Vann Godfrey and the artists of the bodypainting studio he has founded. Attendees are encouraged to bring ritual objects, light clothing, or other adornments meaningful to themselves that they might wish to incorporate into their journey. They are also encouraged (but not required) to attend the earlier roundtable discussion as well to better understand the context of the experience they will embark upon. (Max class size: 20 (Sign up); Materials fee: $30.00; 18+)

Walking the 27th Path of the Tree of Life: The Balance of Order and Ecstasy - Maggi Setti
The 27th path of the Tree of Life (in the magickal system of Qabala) joins the sphere Hod (Order) with Netzach (Ecstasy). The mastery of the 27th path can be the synthesis of the structure, discipline, and study of the Magician and the Orphic ecstasy and intuition of the Witch. After over a year of meditation on the juncture between the 25th and 27th path of the Qabala, Maggi found herself walking these paths, literally, in her second degree initiation ritual. In this workshop, the relationship of Hod and Netzach will be discussed, including the meanings of these spheres, their relationship to the Tree of Life, and the path that joins them. (18+)

Linear Time, such as we experience in this manifest world, is part of larger and larger interlocking cycles. In this class, we will explore how the Wheel of the Year relates to Moon Cycles, passage of the Sun through the Zodiac, and the movement of the Stars through the visible and invisible Heavens. We will also look at how Linear Time and Eternity may relate, not only to each other, but also to the overarching structure of the Universe. We will look at how these interrelationships can be used to our advantage. (YA-appropriate)
