Abundance in the Aquarian Age - Michelle Zee
Now that we are in the cusp of the Aquarian Age that begins in 2012, what does it mean to be abundant? How can we let go the old ego-based lack mentality and shift to an abundant heart-based mentality? How can we use both the Law of Attraction and Inspired Action to manifest what we desire? We will do hands on exercises and energetic clearings to release any Piscean Age resistance you have and install new Aquarian ways of being. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Alchemical Fire Ritual - Alchemical Fire Ritual Team
The Alchemical Fire Ritual is a multi-night ritual running from Midnight to Sunrise Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. This circle has permeable boundaries so that participants may enter and leave as they choose. Folks are encouraged to honor their needs and take part in as much or as little as they like when they like. We also strongly encourage persistent participation. Alchemy works best when you put effort into the practice. To make this magik work, there are some agreements we ask of everyone who enters this Circle:
To get the most out of this kind of ritual, and especially if you're new to this or have questions, we encourage you to come to at least one of our Fire Alchemy Technology or Collaboratory Drum and Chant workshops.
Alchemical Perspectives: How the World looks to an Alchemist - Whittney Matlock & the AFR Team
The practice of Alchemy is widely varied in style and substance. In our experiments, Alchemical Fire Rituals, experience and awareness are pressed into the service of personal transformation. This type of Transformation is never by accident. It asks much of a practitioner. It offers great rewards for those who are persistent. Though there are many ways to practice Alchemy, there are some common seed materials which guide Alchemical thought:
We will explore how modern interpretation of these ancient mystical ideas can still inform our experiments of Spirit and help us transform our personal lead into Life's vital gold.
American Flag Decommissioning and Memorial - Sheriff Scott
This is for all of our Men and Women who have inspired us, protected us, and helped us keep what is precious to ourselves—even at the cost of what is precious to them. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard, Fire, EMS, Police: people who often receive little or no thanks for the sacrifices they give, professionals even if it's not their primary occupation. This is a time for all FSG people to bring their American flags and those of any friends, neighbors, or family members who need them disposed of in the proper way, in reverent flame. There will be an Honor Guard composed of FSG staff and attendees alike; anyone who wishes to honor these selfless men and women may join us. Last of all, we will be asking everyone who places a flag into the flame to shout out to someone, here or in the next life, that is deserving of the honor we are giving. If you do not have a name that comes to mind, we will have a list of names of fallen Soldiers, Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel.
We can only put cotton or other natural-fiber flags in the Fire at FSG. If you have a nylon (or polyester or unidentifiable) flag, your local Fire Department, American Legion Post, Boy Scout, or Girl Scout troop can help you retire it appropriately. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Bellydance Fundamentals - Lauren
Bellydance, or balady dance, is a folk dance from Egypt which may have its origins in the temple dances of Egypt and the mysteries of eastern goddesses like Ishtar and Tanith. Most people know it today through Hollywood's glittery veil, but more and more people are coming to see the direct connection in moving as the body is designed to, and expressing love, joy, and sensuality. Men and women are both welcome, but this is NOT a class for spectators, so come to boogie! If possible, bring a scarf to tie around your hips. [18+]

Join Primal Beat's Rob Wandell as he walks you through drum construction and shares some of the knowledge he has gained in his 20+ years of drum making. He will bring drum shells, solid steel rings, cloth, and skins. In part 1 of this 2 part workshop, we will choose a skin, soak it, choose cloth, wrap the 3 steel rings, and learn how to tie the carriage ropes. We will lace the rings together, put the head on, set the head, and snug the vertical ropes. We'll then leave the drum to dry until Friday. You can see various kinds of drums you can build at Imagicka. If you want to build a drum, you must make arrangements with Rob ahead of time: send email to drumiac at hotmail dot com.
Build Your Own Drum II - Rob - Primal Beat
Now that the heads have had time to dry, we'll do coarse and then fine tuning. Coarse tuning includes pulling the verticals and leveling the head and rings. Then, we'll apply fine tuning. You will learn the reverse mali weave method of fine tuning, and what to listen for to make sure that your drum is tuned properly.
The Care and Feeding of Your Power Animal - Caroline Kenner
So you know who your spirit animal guardian is… what next? What actions can you take to establish a dependable bond with your spirit animal guardian? What ceremonies can you perform, what offerings can you give, how can you best honor the relationship between yourself and your spirit animal?
Join us at the Labyrinth to learn the answers to these questions, and more. Bring your favorite rattle or frame drum, and prepare to dance your animal, or bring your djembe or dumbek to drum so the group can dance. There will be about 40 minutes of discussion followed by experiential drumming and dancing in this class; if you're coming just to drum, you're welcome to arrive late. [Young Adult-appropriate]
Ceremony to Bring a Gentle End to Female Genital Cutting - Caroline Kenner
Presented under the aegis of Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki.
Join us if you are willing to pledge one drop of your precious life's blood to bring an end to female genital cutting. This practice began in Pharaonic times and continues today in many countries, among many cultures. The United Nations has declared this practice a human rights violation. Even as governments try to legislate female genital cutting out of existence, even as aid donors organize grassroots education, the practice continues. Young women and girls are deprived of normal sexual feeling by the surgical removal of the clitoris, usually without anesthetic or sanitary implements.
We will use individually wrapped lancets and catch our drop of blood in a clean piece of cotton. Then we will call upon our Gods and Goddesses, and our compassionate helping spirits, to bring about a gentle end to female genital cutting in our lifetimes. We will cast our blood into sacred fire as an offering.
The famed occultist Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki created this ceremony, and first performed it in Zurich, Switzerland. This ceremony is presented with her encouragement and approval, as part of a year-long cycle with rituals to be held in several locations. Please contact the presenter if you would like to sponsor this ritual for your group.

Collaboratory Drum & Chant - Mike Miller & the AFR Team
Ever thought of an interesting rhythm to play counterpoint to a chant or spoken piece going on at fire circle but felt reluctant to join in? Ever have a great chant occur to you while the drummers had a juicy groove going on and not known how to get it started? We'll briefly talk about ways drummers, chanters (and dancers and ritual people) of all skill levels can quickly and easily communicate or check-in with each other when they need to get on the same page to make fire ritual a collaborative, sweet, magickal flow.
Then we'll quickly set intentional space and chant and drum and play together. Bring a drum, noisemaker, your voice or favorite musical instrument. (Quiet or 'unusual' instruments welcome, too.) Bring a chant, rhythm, or other ritual accompaniment and let's have fun! We will also have instruments, rhythms, and chants to share if you don't have your own.

Coming-of-Age Rituals for Youth: A Focus Group Discussion - Gina Oboler
Is the lack of significant rituals to mark passages from childhood to adulthood a serious short-coming of modern western cultures? A number of commentators, including Joseph Campbell, have made this case. The discussion facilitator will seek to elicit participants' views on such questions as: What has our community done or should it do to mark this transition? Are rituals for coming-of-age needed? What form should they take? Are they beneficial for the participants? How and why? What should be their goals? At what age are they most effective? How can they be constructed so as to achieve these goals? Other questions related to coming-of-age may be added by group participants. [Young Adult-appropriate]
Communicating With Deity I: Do You Hear What I Hear? - Hillary J Gross
What do people mean when they say they've talked to or seen a deity? How do you reconcile your grounding in western science with the (sometimes ungrounding) spirituality you're exploring now? Why do you perceive nothing when others swear they've heard/felt/seen a spirit or god? Shifting your mindset to include not just believing in, but also communicating with, deity and other spirits is a huge challenge for those of us raised in the western world. This workshop will propose a general cosmological framework for how the gods and other spirits operate, as well as exploring ways to perceive them. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Dancing with Deity: Rumba and Cha-Cha - Lord Fairy Bottom
Dancing is the vertical expression of a horizontal wish. These two Latin dances give meaning to the word romance. Rumba is a slow dance that allows two people to join with a certain symbiosis. Each partner accents the other as they move in harmony with each other. Cha-Cha is a quicker dance, but still with a specific rhythm of motion. The partnership of two people glides across the floor in unison. Each dance style gets an hour. There is no prerequisite to take these dance classes. We will observe how our physical bodies join together in harmony that parallels how Deity moves in mystery. [18+]
Dancing with Deity: Swing and Hustle - Lord Fairy Bottom

Swing can be danced to practically any type of 1950s music to that of the more modern millennium. We will learn the basics of Triple Time Swing and maybe West Coast during the first hour. Drumming the Elements and Emotions - Tigre
All the elements have positive and negative aspects and thus can trigger positive or negative emotions. The rhythmic interpretation will obviously be different depending on the intent of the circle. In General, the directions and elements are called with the drum in a positive or neutral state. For all the elements, the sky is the limit as far as what can come forth in the voice of the drum. In this class, we will individually experience the process of meditation with the elements and translation of that meditation into sound via your drum. This is how I have developed the drum calls to the elements in ceremony without a spoken word. We will share the rhythms and sounds that come forth and I will be including this practice in my future book on drum magic and spirituality.

Find Your Sacred Voice I - Izolda
A workshop on discovering the sacred joy of singing. The voice, being our first instrument, has the greatest physical, emotional and spiritual connection to our body. Throughout the ages, people have used song both to express themselves and to connect with the sacred. And yet, usually, we sing without first establishing the crucial connection between breath, body, and voice. Or perhaps we are afraid to sing because we fear that we can not sing. Using stretches, and physical and vocal exercises and techniques, this workshop will focus on the connecting the body to the breath, the breath to the voice, the voice to the song, and the song to the spirit. We will also attempt to increase the comfort level with vocalizing and develop some listening skills to aid in feeling joyful about singing both individually and with others. The participants will also receive a vocal skills practice CD to help them keep the connection with their singing voice long after the workshop is over. In this workshop, learn:
Finally, we'll put techniques into practice by learning and singing a number chants and songs. This workshop is open to anyone. This is a beautiful and fun song that everyone can learn and perform together in glorious, harmonious sound. Fire Alchemy Technology: How We Work at the Fire - Whittney Matlock & the AFR Team
In its simplest form, Alchemy is the art and science of transformation through experimentation and observation. Our Alchemical Fire Ritual (AFR) is a way to practice this art using the tools available to us at the fire circle. We work together in a creative collaboration to awaken and inspire awareness in each other. We playfully explore the edges of our comfort zones within the safe space of our intentions. As we approach our limits, we reach beyond them and observe what happens. Supported in the circle of our sisters and brothers great leaps become easy steps. We can risk falling when it is into the arms of those we trust.
In this workshop, we will look at the tools you may already be used to working with at fire circles and rituals...
We want to share what may be a new way for you to put these familiar tools to use to spark awareness and inspiration—experiment and wonder. We encourage you, we welcome you, we invite you to come check out our lab before we start working together. Ask questions about the tools we use and how we use them, and learn about the core concepts we act from to create change throughout the night. You'll soon be on your way to becoming an 'adept.'

Like Ghedes' salty humor, this workshop is for adults only. [18+]
Global Spirits Trance Possession Rite for the Spirits of Legacy - Universal Temple of Spirits
In following with the theme of this year's festival, The Universal Temple of Spirits presents a service for the Spirits of Legacy. We will honor the Spirits of Legacy with drumming, dance, song, and art. The service begins with a sung litany prayer to set the space. And then the drums start. The singing and dancing continues throughout, and we call our Spirits into ourselves to share our celebration.
This is an open circle; you may join late or leave early (although you'll probably miss some good stuff if you do). An outside grounding/processing space staffed by skilled by possession workers will be available. This is a Pantheistic working, so we will honor Spirits from around the globe and sing in their native languages when possible. Please note that this is not an open drum circle; it is a possession-based working. The more active your participation, the more exciting the service, so, please bring:
You may wish to dress in the colors of the Spirit you'll be honoring. Donations of food, drink, or money for supplies are appreciated, but not mandatory. The Universal Temple of Spirits is a celebratory group practicing in the Global Spirits tradition. A Goddess's Secrets: The Other Reason for Belly Dance - Lauren
Legend says that belly dance comes from temple dances of ancient Eastern goddesses, meant to prepare women for the childbearing process. For them, sex and birth were part of a continuum of living, so training for one included training for the other. In this class, we will take the fundamental movements and relearn them as fabulous techniques for carrying and birthing a baby, giving yourself an orgasm without visibly moving, and being really, really good at sex, in an intentional and conscious way. Please attend the Fundamentals class, or have previous bellydance experience. [18+]
Grimms' Fairy Tales: What Your Mother Didn't Tell You! - Kenny Klein
Growing up, we all heard the stories of Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and Beauty and the Beast. But each of these tales comes from older, darker tales, and carries with it dark, erotic underpinnings. Kenny Klein explores the deep meanings of the tales collected by the Grimms, adding material from traditional songs and older myths to give a view of the real stories of these characters. Recommended for adults and older teens.
Growing with the Goddess - Denise Cumor
This workshop is for young women 13–17. We'll cover real facts about how their female bodies work and how to take a proactive and empowered position when making decisions about sexuality and reproductive health. For many young women, coming of age is a confusing time. With contradictions of overt sexuality in the media and an education in abstinence, many young women get lost in between such extremes. Topics of discussion include: female reproductive anatomy, menstruation, self breast exams, what to expect at OB-GYN visits, and STDs and Safety. [Young Adult-only]
Guedra: North African Trance Ritual/Dance - Lauren
This is a pre-Islamic community building ritual from Morocco and Mali. Although it is described as a dance, it can as easily be done seated. Traditionally, Guedra is only done by women. For our purposes, this ritual is open to anyone who identifies as female, regardless of what's in your undies. [18+]
Healer, Heal Thyself - Arakeane & Selene
Healing oneself requires a number of different skill sets not typically used during normal energy work or intuitive healing. In this class, we will focus on healing one's own body, mind, and spirit. Learning to work on one's own mental health is extremely important for healers, witches, energy workers, and anyone working with the obscure and Mystic arts where doubts and negativity frequently gain footholds within the mind. A number of practical exercises will be conducted.

Carrier of Gjallrhorn, also known as Rig and called The Shining Æse, was the watchman of the Norse Gods. He is less well known than a number of others and much of his lore was lost. Come share what can be learned from this most perceptive of gods.
This workshop will follow the Heimdall Blót; you may want to bring a chair. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Everyone gets a cone or two to take home with them. Materials fee: $5.00. [Young Adult-appropriate]
Hermes Council - Bill Seligman
Men and women are different. Though we share a common spiritual ground, there are Women's Mysteries and Men's Mysteries that can be experienced separately. The Hermes Council is a men's-only spiritual group. It complements the shared spirituality of men and women by offering men a separate space to address their spiritual needs. The rituals and practices of the Hermes Council are based on Wiccan and Native American traditions, and will probably be familiar to you. What is unique about us is the degree of honesty and communication that we share in our ritual space.
After a short (10–15 minute) introduction, we will perform a ritual in the Hermes Council tradition. The ritual will include a council, where we'll pass around a talking stick and give every participant a chance to speak. Please feel free to bring drums and other musical instruments, cups for juice or seltzer, and any other ritual equipment with which you are comfortable (e.g., athames). Once we have defined our sacred space and cast our circle, we will be reluctant to allow latecomers to enter. Please be on time. [Young Adult-appropriate]
A Herstory of Sex - Denise Cumor
I love the saying 'Well behaved women rarely make history.' This is especially true when we look at women and sex. Let's explore and honor some of the most vibrant bad girls in history, from the Babylonian temple priestesses to the modern day women at the forefront of redefining women and sexuality (Annie Sprinkle, Tristan Taormino, Shine Louise Houston… and so many more!) The workshop will be a mix of lecture and discussion, to include our favorite historically naughty gals, women and porn, sexual revolutions throughout history, and politics of women's sexuality.
Intro to the Rites of Munay-Ki - Shelly K.
Munay-Ki (pronounced moon-ah-key) has a basis in ancient Incan wisdoms, yet these universally applicable tools and attunements are compatible with anyone's current path. The Laiki, a lineage of wisdom keepers and healers are now sharing these teachings and sacred rites with the world. During this time of global transformation, these teachings are gifted to help us reach our individual alignment with our original blueprint. The blueprint is that of a self healing, balanced, luminous creator being. I will share how Munay-Ki is a concise, staight forward, direct link to gracefully transforming our DNA and our world. Then I will hold guided meditation while imparting an energy blessing . [Young Adult-appropriate]

Ivatos: The New Oracle & The Wizard's Mirror - Ing
IVATOS, The Wizard's Mirror, is a relatively new oracle created by Gari Gold and the IVATOS Spirits. IVATOS is the product of decades of work in many dimensions helping us to tap into the wisdom of the Divine Wizard within us all. This modern oracle is un-tethered because it is not attached to any ancient culture with the history of violence to human men, women, or children. IVATOS is attached to Spirit in the highest form of purity; the Divine.
We all have an intuitive part of our nature which has been called: a sixth sense, second sight, ESP, spiritual awareness, intuition, guts, etc. IVATOS will help clarify what our intuitive nature is trying to tell us while we are so busy with our daily routines and mundane doings. A journey into one's self with IVATOS is a seemingly humble journey in which one can reach an amazing depth of insight and self-knowledge. A reading with IVATOS has the potential of being a very profound, powerful experience due to the dynamic synergy that takes place among the IVATOS Signs, the Map of Consciousness, the person reading them, and the person they are being read for. Many people can look at the arrangement of the Signs and have a feeling of deep knowing that immediately answers the question they've asked of IVATOS. Some people can actually visualize the scenes where they are living their 'Next Steps of Action' shown to them with the aid of IVATOS. IVATOS Signs can be used by themselves individually and in combinations for healings the same way crystals are used. They can be laid out on our body, held in our hands, or worn as jewelry, thus allowing the vibration of the signs to surround our body with the IVATOS vibrations while at the same time, positively charging our everyday lives with pertinent, and highly specific, positive vibes.
You will learn the meaning of each Sign, its relationship to the Map of Consciousness, as well as learn IVATOS's evolution through The Wizard's Mirror. Private readings can also be scheduled at a nominal cost. IVATOS Kits, while not necessary for this workshop, are available from the IVATOS website. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Let's Do Some Rangoli! - Mike Miller & the AFR Team

Listening to Love - Arakeane & Selene
The basis of all positive spiritual work is love, but it is not uncommon in our search for spiritual enlightenment, Mystic power, and understanding of ancient lore to lose sight of this basic truth. I know for myself that I was only able to advance spiritually by fully embracing love. More than simply having love, I believe that it is important to learn to listen to love, to let love be your guide, and to take action based upon the guidance that love provides. On the surface, love is a simple concept, but in this class, we will attempt to study the some of the complexities of love and how love may be used as a key to unlocking the Mystic arts. Bring a blanket to lie on for some of the exercises.

Explore what the elementals of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Rhythm have to teach us about being in relationship. Delve into the concepts of Affection, Dreams, Surrender, Secrets, and Guardianship and discover how they can deepen our connections to others. How can embodying the Divine and her Consort help us touch Spirit, expand our capacity to Love, and create real change in our hearts and our lives?

Preserving the Harvest - Teazel and Bill
Home food preservation is a fast disappearing part of our culture. It has become much cheaper and easier to obtain commercially canned and frozen goods at the grocery store. Lately though, as we become more educated about health and nutritional issues, it is becoming more evident that many of these processes are costly to us in other ways. Eating foods without additives and preservatives aids our bodies in maintaining health, and home food preservation in itself is more environmentally sound. Home preserved food even tastes better than most commercially produced foods. This class extends on the theme from the Wheel of the Year class, discussing how best to preserve seasonal foods through freezing, dehydration, and canning, and how to get the most from those foods in nutritional and taste benefits. We will also teach the basics of canning through a hands-on demonstration, making and canning a batch of fresh fruit jam. Participation is limited to 12 and there is a $5 materials fee. Max class size: 12; Materials fee: $5.00; [18+]

Shamanic Healing Ceremony - Caroline Kenner
Shamanic healing has survived every human cultural shift from the Neolithic past the Industrial Revolution for one reason: shamanic healing works. The intent of this group working is to perform as much healing as possible for each person in the circle, within the constraints of time and energy. The spirits will choose who receives which aspects of shamanic healing. The three major shamanic healing protocols are extraction, soul retrieval, and power animal retrieval. Other possibilities are the lifting of bad magic and depossession. Each person attending the ceremony will receive healing. If you choose to attend this ceremony, you will find that miracles are a distinct possibility. [Young Adult-appropriate]
Shielding and Yielding - Firesong
Many traditions have methods to deal with the energies we encounter. Knowing what proximity of energetic or diety contact is appropriate and what is not is important in any Spiritual practice. Knowing what and when to let in or to keep out is essential. Particularly in trance possession paths, these issues are magnified.
We will discuss both sides of the sheidling/yielding coin as it pertains to public ritual (particularly trance possession) and personal practices. This roundtable discussion conducted by members of the Universal Temple of Spirits will focus on techniques for being a good Guardian and being a good 'Horse' (person being possessed). [Young Adult-appropriate]

Skyclad Self-Acceptance and Celebration - Alexandros
Why do we fear our birthday suits? We humans are the only species that knows body shame. That shame hurts us terribly. Yet the body is a beautiful divine gift. Its ability to experience sensual pleasure often leads to spiritual transcendence. This skyclad, compassionate, frank and non-judgmental combination meditation ritual and workshop will discuss the body as a physical, aesthetic, sexual and spiritual vehicle. We will begin with a meditation of thanksgiving for our bodies. Then we will explore our own bodies, part by part from head to toe. During the second half of the workshop, participants will be invited to talk about their relationships with their clothed and nude bodies in a body-and-sexuality-conflicted society. Participants will only touch their own bodies. Although this workshop is not primarily about sex, self-touching may cause arousal, and masturbation will be permitted in the second half. Participants are encouraged to bring either meditation cushions or other comfortable seating appropriate to their needs. Come thank the Goddess and God as we celebrate the body in skyclad fellowship. Transform Your Life with Earth, Air, Fire, and Water - Izolda
What if you could:
With Life Elements, you can! In Astrology, Ayuerveda, and Native American spirituality, the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water play a large role in determining personality characteristics. For example, a person may be an Air sign (and therefore thought and reason oriented). However, the Life Elements System proposes that simply knowing your status is only the first step in creating a full and well-rounded life. The Life Elements workshop takes the process one step further by not only allowing individuals to assess themselves and their current status with the Element Designation Assessment Tool but also giving missions and quests to develop and/or balance all four elements. It is only with access to the strengths and characteristics of all four elements that we can live, act, and react in the world from a well-rounded and joyful place. In this workshop, we will take a truncated Element Designation Assessment Test (the full EDAT is available online and in the book), and we will assess each individual's element designations. Once those are established, we will develop a methodology that will allow participants to stabilize and then increase their connection to the elements they need in order to help them become fully well-rounded in all four elements and then therefore possess the ability to access each whenever it is needed. We will then complete a fun mission to each of the Elements to start everyone on their path of full Elemental Integration. Max class size: 20. [Young Adult-appropriate]

Valkyrie, Vettir, and Norns! Oh My! - Miki Tracey
Among the Norse practitioners and especially from the remaining literature, the Norse gods get a lot of press. Granted, it was always possible that that hobo coming down the trail was Odin, but it was 'those ones' that a Viking had to be careful about. They've survived today in the concept of land wights (Icelandic 'elves'), in Grimm and other stories, and in the oral history that has come down to us. Like the vikings, we will use a wide range of definition of the word 'Norse' from Germanic, to Northern Scottish, Scandinavian, Estonian and even Norman. This is a discussion circle style class and students are encouraged to bring their own favorite Norse critter and/or story. [Young Adult-appropriate]
