Beltane Rituals

Opening Ritual: Hear the Call (Dance Pavilion)
We open our weekend, and our exploration of the senses through our rituals this weekend, with sound. Probably more than any other physical sense, sound calls to the primal within us and invites it to come out and play. Medical science has shown that sound can change the frequency of our brainwaves and bring us to an altered state of consciousness. In this ritual, we will use the sounds of sexual ecstasy to romance our primal natures and attune our consciousness to a heightened awareness of sacred sexuality. Come join us as we vocalize our desire to join with the Divine Lover inside and outside of our selves.

Dance the Maypole (Main Ritual Field)
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

– Teilhard de Chardin

Through the sense of touch, we acknowledge our bodies as the vessels that carry our beautiful spirits around this earth. It is through the sense of touch that we worship, nurture, explore, stimulate, activate, and connect with ourselves and with others in the physical form. Express your joy and celebrate our living temples of love at the Maypole Ritual. Bring a blanket or something to sit upon, and join us in acts of service to ourselves and others as we honor this delightful of sense of touch.

Sensual Feast (Dining Hall)
Continuing this Beltane’s “Feast for the Senses,” we come to the celebration of Taste. You are invited to experience a sensuous garden of decadent delights as a divine banquet of sweet, savory, and spicy selections are laid before you, offering up seductive scents and heavenly flavors. Lights sparkle like stars and music murmurs erotic promises; all around you are smoky eyes and sly smiles. In this lush paradise, the only rule is that you must feed others and allow yourself to be fed. Whose fingers will your lips caress tonight? What aphrodisiacs will fan the flames of your desire? In the garden of sensual delights, the Divine Beloved nourishes us with Love and intoxicates us with Beauty. The Sensual Feast is a catered meal with ritual elements that will take place in the dining hall during the scheduled dinner hour on Saturday night. The feast does not include alcohol, but those 21+ may BYOB. Dinner will lead directly into the Fires of Venus ritual.

Dress however the idea of a “garden of sensual delights” inspires you, but dinner is not clothing-optional; you must wear something on the lower half of your body and you must wear shoes. Handwashing stations will be provided.

There will be a small number of tickets available onsite for $25 each; please ask at Check-in. If you do not with to participate in the sensual feast, you will have to make your own arrangements for Saturday dinner.

The Fire of Venus (Fire Circle)
Tonight we begin a Sacred Love Spell.

A spell that will touch our lives, open our hearts, and change the way we move through the world. Begun at Beltane, simmering through the summer, our spell will culminate at Fires of Venus in September.

Tonight, in the Temple of Venus, we will choose to take a risk that opens our hearts to love. We’ll set our intention and then take a breath, preparing ourselves for the road ahead. And with our entire being, we’ll embark on the first steps of this new path, ready and willing to take the adventure.

Whether you’re a drummer or a dancer, a healer or a spirit worker, a swinger or a kinkster—or if you just want to touch the Goddess—the Temple of Venus has a place for you to honor the many paths of Love. Join us on this journey of play, healing, romance, sensuality, sexuality, BDSM, and ecstasy. The spell begins tonight.

Closing Ritual: See You Later (Dance Pavilion)
The weekend is over and it’s time to pack up and head back to our daily lives—lives which are usually not compatible with a constant state of sexual and sacred bliss. We can, however, always hold a piece of that bliss within our memories and allow the sacred to become more integrated with the parts of our lives we previously held to be purely secular, mundane, or asexual. The closing ritual will focus on utilizing our sense of sight to help with that process. We will unlock our creative and transformative powers and use them to harness the memories and lessons we wish to carry forward. There will be a variety of arts and crafts supplies for participants to use to create a token that will act as a visual trigger to revive those memories when they are needed. We join together now—and we will see each other later.
